Community Profile

The year is 1996. Competing families of mages, many of which chose sides in the Cold War, have sent their children to academies to give them practical experience in the skills they need to survive in a largely hidden world of magic: spellcasting, combat, and political experience. Unfortunately, the rivalries between major magical bloodlines -- called Houses -- extend even into schools like Paracelsus Academy. Competition between these Houses threatens to reach a fever pitch, as past betrayals have made relations between them more contentious.

The students at Paracelsus have more than their parents' politics to worry about, though. They have to master magical powers that can grant them incredible strength, immortality, and influence, but come with high prices. The curriculum at Paracelsus is demanding and unorthodox, and many of their tests pose dangers worse than a failing grade. The teenage students attending the academy also have social lives that can be just as tumultuous as the political and scholastic environment.

Paracelsus Academy can turn students into legends, but they have to make it through the next year first.
